A York County community is reeling after a tragic crash that claimed a local student.
The deceased was identified in a letter to members of the Noble High School community as Aiden Keefe, a senior at the North Berwick school.
Noble High School's Principal offered condolences to Keefe's family and gave a list of resources to help students and teachers deal with the loss.

News Center Maine reports the crash happened near the intersection of Elm Street and Buffum Road at approximately 2:30 pm on Thursday.

Amtrak's Downeaster Train was traveling from Brunswick to Boston when it crashed into a white pickup truck.
Keefe was killed in the crash, but no one on the train was injured.

Roads in the area were shut down for several hours.
The North Berwick Police Chief told WGME-TV that one of the challenges they face in the investigation is determining why Keefe's vehicle was on the tracks.
