The Maine native and former People Magazine “Sexiest Man Alive” recently reflected on growing up in the Pine Tree State.

No matter who you are, if you grew up here, there’s a good chance you have some nostalgic memories of our state, even if you’re a big star like the one we’re talking about today.

On Monday, April 20th, Patrick Dempsey shared a photo on Instagram reflecting on the town where he grew up, saying it still looks like it’s from the late 19th century.

He also noted that the building in the photo is where he once worked with his father and Dennis Richardson, calling it the beginning of what was known as recycling.

In a continuation of his post, Dempsey reflected on working at the local redemption center, where people brought in bottles for a few cents, and companies later picked up the empties.

Dempsey shared how the building, once a Masonic hall, still stands today as a reminder of a time when manufacturing was thriving and those simple moments created lasting memories.
