Locally owned "from scratch" pop-up kitchen The Butcher The Baker will be taking over the space on Hammond St. in Bangor, that The Fiddlehead Restaurant has occupied for over a decade.

Last December, folks from Fiddlehead (as it's often called) put out a message on their Facebook Page, that it would be changing ownership, but offered little other information.

They've been posting a schedule of limited openings, mostly on the weekends.

Meanwhile, The Butcher The Baker, who opened a new food truck in Hermon, just past the Sports Arena, last July, posted to their social media the day after Valentine's Day, that: "We’ve been keeping a secret from you all!!! Details coming soon!"

Well, this weekend, they finally divulged the secret on their Facebook Page and made the big announcement that they're ready to transition to a brick-and-mortar restaurant.

"The Former Fiddlehead restaurant at 84 Hammond street in downtown Bangor has sold and we are the new owners!!!!"

With a nod to the hard work that the Fiddlehead Restaurant's owners have put into creating a special place in Downtown Bangor, the folks from The Butcher The Baker said they are hoping to offer diners another great option for when they eat out.

"Former Owners Laura and Mel have created such a beautiful atmosphere and delicious place to have dinner for the last 13 years and we intend to do the same. Our ideas include us open for Lunch and Dinner! A casual lunch or intimate dinner, you can expect to have an outstanding meal, delicious cocktails, and a relaxed vibe!... We want a menu that you can’t currently find in Bangor and hope to blow your minds! Support local right!"

They say they are also selling that food truck they opened last summer, with all the fixings included.

The Butcher The Baker hinted that while they don't have an official opening date right now, they hope to be open by May.
