If you were driving around the Downtown Bangor area Saturday evening, you may have noticed an increase in police presence and several detours set up around one section of town. As rush hour hit the Queen City, a couple of roads right in the center of it all were blocked off as the Bangor Police Department dealt with an incident.

Sergeant Jason McAmbley, Public Information Officer for the Bangor Police Department, said dispatchers received a call around 5:30 Saturday afternoon, that someone had been shot.

When officers arrived on the scene, at a spot on Harlow Street, between State and Central, they found the injured individual and eventually caught up with the person they believe was responsible for the shooting.

"One adult was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Tyiron Kindred, 40, of Baltimore, Maryland, was taken into custody on a charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, a Class C felony."

Roads around the area were blocked off for several hours as authorities looked into the incident. McAmbley says the investigation is active so they will not be releasing any further information on the matter.
