Saturday’s Downtown Bangor Partnership ‘ARTober’ Event Postponed Due To Weather
Mother Nature is at it again, and some of the fun things planned for the Bangor area this weekend are being postponed due to some wild weather moving into the area on Saturday.
The good news is it's just the events planned for Saturday that are being postponed. The rest of the weekend should be just fine.
The Downtown Bangor Facebook Page says the events planned for the ARTober First Friday are still ago.
"What a lineup for our ARTober First Friday tomorrow, October 6! See you Downtown!"
Friday's activities kick off at 10 AM and take place in different locations across town well into the evening.
However, all of the events scheduled to take place on Saturday for the "ARTober" event will not be happening.
The forecast is calling for high winds and heavy rain for most of the afternoon; not the best conditions for celebrating art or windowshopping.
The event was supposed to take place down along Harlow St. in Bangor from 9 AM to 4 PM, and include over 40 different vendors.
"Due to the impending hurricane scheduled to arrive in Bangor on Saturday, October 7th, The Downtown Bangor Partnership (DBP) is POSTPONING the ARTober Sidewalk Art Festival, presented by Realty of Maine. We are working with vendors, sponsors and venues to find a potential alternate date, time and location in order to reschedule this festive, fun and much loved event!"
No word yet on when they will reschedule the event. We do know there are a lot of things planned to take place in the Downtown Bangor Area this month, including the Zombie Walk and Halloween Trick-or-treating, so the logistics of that could get tricky.
We'll keep you posted.
