
This Maine Food Truck Was Just Named the 8th Best in America
Lovefood is a food website known for recipes, restaurant reviews, cooking guides, and nationwide “best of” lists.
We love a good list, so when they set out to rank the best food trucks in America, we had to see where Maine placed.
Food trucks have existed since as early as the 1930s, but they surged in popularity in more recent decades, especially after the 2008 recession.
During the warmer months, there are plenty of food trucks operating throughout the Bangor area and across the state of Maine.
My dream is to host a reality show where I travel the country trying the best food trucks in every state. Unfortunately, Netflix doesn’t seem to be returning my calls.
Narrowing down the best food truck in each state is no easy task. Every state offers a wide variety of dining options, but in the Pine Tree State, one spot stood out above the rest.
Their pick for Maine was “Bite into Maine,” which operates food truck locations in Portland and Cape Elizabeth, along with brick-and-mortar restaurants in Scarborough and Portland.
It was ranked the 8th best food truck in the country—not too shabby!

Bite into Maine is owned by husband-and-wife team Karl and Sarah Sutton. They’re known for mouthwatering menu items such as lobster grilled cheese, lobster BLTs, and the classic Maine lobster roll, served with house-made mayos like zingy wasabi, yellow Indian curry, and smoky chipotle.
Bite into Maine started in 2011 as a small food truck parked in Fort Williams Park near Portland Head Light, serving fresh lobster rolls with ocean views.
The food truck operates seasonally from April through early November.
They are also affiliated with Goldbelly, which means you can have their dishes shipped directly to your home.
