World Record Set in Maine For Longest Mini Golf Hole Ever
For many people throughout Maine, playing a few rounds of mini golf is a must each and every summer.
Miniature golf courses can be found throughout the state, from more populated areas to some of Maine's smallest coastal destinations.
While many of those courses offer challenge, fun and have become a yearly ritual, none of them have set any world records. But that changed for one day in July this year.
A Mini Golf Hole in Bangor, Maine, Sets a New World Record on July 25, 2025
People lined up in Bangor, Maine, on Saturday, July 25, in hopes of being one of a handful to be part of a world-record setting event.
According to WABI, US Cellular brought a 'Unplug and Play' event to the city that included a chance for locals to play the longest mini golf hole in history. A 507-foot behemoth that would instantly set the world record as the longest 'temporary' mini golf ever.
To be that in perspective, the average mini golf hole across America is about 35 feet long.
You Won't Get a Chance To Try Your Hand At The 'World's Longest Mini Golf Hole'
As you may have noticed from the paragraph above, the Guinness Book of World Records recognized the mini golf hole in Bangor as a record-setting 'temporary' hole.
Following the event on July 25, US Cellular donated a portion of the world's largest mini golf to the local Boys and Girls Club. They'll be able to turn that portion of the hole into a 9-hole mini golf course for kids to enjoy.
