Most of us have heard over the years that we pay more to live in the great State of Maine but who knew we’d be in the top 1- for the highest cost of utilities.

A site called Move has broken the figures down for electricity, natural gas, internet, cable and water.  Turns out that the national average for those things per month is around $422.00.  Can you guess what our average monthly total might be? Try $465.00.  So around $43 bucks more translating to around $516 dollars more per year.  Imagine if that money went to savings instead. So which State has the least expensive rates? Coming in a #50 Idaho has the best rates which would translate into a savings or $1452 per year over Maine. If it makes you feel any better in Hawaii which is the worst the monthly nut is $731.00 but then again you're suffering on the beach.

Not much to do about things really except what the site suggests which is move.
