When’s The Pool Open? We’ve Got You’re Schedule For Summer Fun In The Sun In The Greater Bangor Area!
Now that it's officially June, and the weather is starting to warm up, everyone's thinking the same thing: When's the pool opening?
It might be a couple of weeks before school actually gets out, but kids and parents are both looking forward to summer fun in the sun. So, when do the pools open?
We've got the scoop for you!

Now keep in mind, pools cannot operate without lifeguards, and lifeguards are usually high school or college students, so the pools have to wait until they're staffed up to open.

That being said, it looks like we won't have to wait too much longer to take a refreshing dip in the water.

The Bangor Parks & Recreation Department hopes to have both the outdoor pool, The Beth Pancoe Pool, located at Hayford Park, 775 13th St, and Dakin Park, at 336 Pine St, open on Sunday, June 21st. We're told that is the earliest they've ever opened!

However, the Bangor Housing Splash Pad is opened for the season! Located off Davis Road, the splash pad is a great spot to cool down until the pools open, with a nearby playground, covered picnic tables, and a basketball court on-site.

In Brewer has a soft opening scheduled (depending on the weather and if they have enough staff) for Friday June 19th. Pool hours for General Swim will run from 1-5:30 PM Monday through Friday. You can find out more at the Brewer Parks and Rec website.
