Any one of them would be worthy of their own standalone show, but all three together, now that's a recipe for one heck of a performance.

GE Smith, former Saturday Night Live musical director (from 1985-1995), is joining forces with renowned Rock and Blues guitarist Jim Weider, of The Band, and three-time Grammy-winning producer and multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell to bring an evening of guitar greatness to Bar Harbor.

The 'Masters of the Telecaster', as the group is called, was started over a decade ago by Weider, bringing together the three great guitarists and a host of talented guests who make appearances at some of the shows. They've been playing together at various venues across the world since 2013. And they will be making a rare appearance at The Criterion Theatre on Sunday, July 19th.

We got a chance to speak with GE Smith about the tour, and he said it was his wife, Taylor, who was the driving force behind getting the 'Masters' to make a stop in Bar Harbor, as the couple has some long-time friends who live on MDI.

He said folks should be ready for a night full of great music and fun.

"We play so many songs because we know so many songs. We definitely play Rock N Roll. We lean towards American/Bluesy, there's some country, but not like country country. It's more like bar music, you know, we really do. People can get up and dance if they want to. I wish more people would get up and dance. And because there are the 3 of us up front, when Larry's there, we do have a wide, wide range of material."

Smith says the band is looking forward to playing the Criterion next month and bringing a night full of good-time music to the area.
