Michaels To Open New Bangor Location Friday

Michaels will open their new store in the former A.C. Moore building on Stillwater Avenue in Bangor this week.

It's time to get crafty. Michaels is ready to open its long-awaited Bangor location. According to the arts and craft store's website, the new location at 510 Stillwater Avenue opens March 12. Anticipation of the new store has been building in recent months. Signs hung in January stating the store will be "coming soon" further stoked public excitement for the new store in the Parkade Mall.

Back in November 2019, A.C. Moore announced it would close all of its U.S. stores including those in Bangor, Augusta and South Portland. About 40 of those stores -- although none were specified -- would reopen as Michaels, which operates more than 1,260 arts and crafts stores in 49 states and Canada.

There currently are three other Michaels locations in the state: Augusta, Biddeford, and Scarborough.
