New ‘FYZICAL’ Therapy Clinic Hoping To Help Furry Friends Too
They're not just in the business of helping you feel better; this month the folks from FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers Twin City, want to celebrate their first month open by helping others. In this case, the others they are helping are local seniors who need an extra hand feeding their furry friends.
"To commemorate the new FYZICAL location in Bangor, the clinic is holding a pet food and supply drive to benefit Eastern Area Agency on Aging’s Furry Friends Food Bank. Eastern Area Agency on Aging is dedicated to preserving the special bond between older adults and their pets by providing pre-packaged standardized bags of pet food and basic pet care supplies to low-income older adults monthly through the Furry Friends Food Bank (FFFB)."
Kelly Adams, Nutrition Manager, Eastern Area Agency on Aging, says it's food drives like these that are of great help to almost 400 seniors in our area every month.
"Pet food drives like these are crucial to sustaining our program as we hand out 12,000 pounds of pet food and litter every month".
Once collected, volunteers prepackage the food and supplies into kits and distribute them to people who have signed up through the Eastern Area Agency on Aging in Penobscot, Piscataquis, Washington, and Hancock counties.
If you're interested in checking out the new FYZICAL Twin City clinic, you can stop in anytime between 9 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. They'll also be collecting pet food and supplies through May 2nd, when they hold their Grand Opening celebration.
