From Bangor to Calais, the roads this afternoon and tonight could quickly become very slippery.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of Penobscot, Hancock, Washington, and Piscataquis Counties.

Light freezing rain could develop along the coast until about 5 p.m. today, and then   throughout the inland areas until about 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Roads could become very slick around the evening commute, so drive with extreme caution, as a "light glaze" is expected. Remember, bridges and overpasses are the first things to freeze up.

Temperatures in the Bangor area will top out at about 35 degrees this afternoon and then drop slightly to 33 as the night goes on.  Rain, snow and sleet moves into the Bangor area tomorrow morning, as temperatures rise to about 37 degrees.

In Ellsworth this afternoon temps could reach 37 degrees. Rain will continue tonight and the temperature will drop to 34.  A mixture of rain and snow is expected Tuesday morning with temps around 38 by mid-day.
