Take one look into Nyah’s deep, chocolate brown eyes and just try not to fall in love with the SPCA of Hancock County's Pet of the Week!

This 1-year-old pittie mix is the color of the darkest chocolate with just a little bit of vanilla swirl on her chest. She radiates confidence and beauty, even in front of the camera as she smiles and cocks her head like, “Hello there! Are you my new best friend?”

Nyah is ready to be a family’s new dog. She’s great with people, obedient, and eager to be a member of the family. She’s still barely more than a puppy though, so she could use someone who would give her some guidance. She does well with other dogs, especially ones that might set a good example for her to grow up into, and she would be fine with confident cats - she might take a timid cat’s flight as an invitation to play! There is one animal she’s not good with, and that’s chickens. Oh, she likes chicken, just not the living kind.

Nyah is all ready to be someone’s new best friend. She’s just waiting to meet that special someone. Could it be you?

Due to the spread of COVID-19 in the area, the SPCA of Hancock County is currently closed to the public.  But, the animals are still available for adoption.  The best thing to do at this point is monitor their WEBSITE, for both animals that are available for adoption, further contact information, and how you can donate to support the SPCA of Hancock County.

The SPCA of Hancock County is a no-kill facility, and currently has many cats and dogs available for adoption. It’s located at 141 Bar Harbor Road in Trenton. Donations are always accepted. They will take your returnable bottles as a donation, so please drop them off!

Email them at info@spcahancockcounty.org.  Call them at (207) 667-8088.
