Looking for a fun way to celebrate the holidays this last weekend before Christmas?  Or how about one last shopping trip to get those final gifts?  Check out this event coming to Orono this weekend!

This Saturday, December 22nd you can head over to Orono High School for Orono GSA's First Winter Festival.

You can expect a fun afternoon of food, games, door prizes and craft vendors for those final holiday purchases!

You'll also be able to get creative with their gingerbread house making contest for $5, with all supplies supplied.

Admission is free and the event runs from noon to 4 PM.

The group who is putting the event on is Gender Sexuality Alliance.  Adrian Sockalexis of the group says they put on the event to raise money to help the young people of the community:

"Our goal is to raise enough money to be able to provide binders and other trans* and nonbinary items for some of our kids to help with their gender dysphoria and to be able to have them experience events that will help them grow into positive leaders."

100% of the events proceeds will go to the Gender Sexuality Alliance group.
