Route 1A Ellsworth Accident Claims One Deer But Gives Us Two More

There was another car-deer accident on Route 1A  in Ellsworth Wednesday afternoon, but this one was rather unique.

According to Officer Gil Jameson of the Ellsworth Police Department, "the doe was killed, but she birthed two fawns on impact."

It's incredible that the two survived, but they did, and they're in good health!

The fawns spent yesterday afternoon and early evening at the Ellsworth Police Department before being picked up by Maine Game Warden Rudolph, who transferred them to one of the state's facilities, but not before feeding them both goat's milk.

Officer Jameson said that this is the second time that he's encountered this situation is his over 30-year career.
