Meet Marquis, a very pretty pittie and boxer mix that is 3 years old and is INCREDIBLY smart.

She is so smart that on her first night at the shelter, she opened every door that wasn’t dead bolted and let herself out! Fortunately, she knew to hang around and was quickly caught the next day. Still, she taught us not to underestimate her intelligence or abilities!

With a caramel-colored coat and white on her chest and beautiful brown-gold eyes, Marquis is a beauty that even knows the trick “sit pretty”!

Marquis, SPCA of Hancock County

This smarty pants loves people and children. She doesn’t care for every dog she meets -some of them just aren’t as good as her,  but overall, she generally does well with other dogs.

Her caveat is with cats. She is sure cats are creatures of pure evil that need to be hunted down.  So, she does not want to be in a home with other cats - that way she can relax knowing she and her family are safe from their threatening menace.

Marquis is ready to be in a home without cats and shower it with her love, wit, and charm; the shelter just has too many cats for her liking! Know anyone who would love to bring this combo of brains and beauty home forever?

Call to schedule an appointment and meet with Marquis!  Call (207) 667-8088, or email at info@spcahancockcounty.org.

The SPCA of Hancock County is a no-kill facility, and currently has many cats and dogs available for adoption. It’s located at 141 Bar Harbor Road in Trenton. Donations are always accepted. They will take your returnable bottles as a donation, so please drop them off right there at the shelter.
