Maine Troopers Report To Over 30 Crashes Tuesday, Urge Motorists To Stay Home And Off Roads
The storm system that is sweeping across the state has kept Maine Troopers busy all day today.
Local police, fire departments, and tow trucks have had their work cut out for them since the first snow hit the roads across the Pine Tree state mid-morning.
Unfortunately for many, it became a literal crash course in how to drive in wintery conditions, as roadways got slick quickly, which made travel treacherous on Maine roads.
The Maine State Police took to social media Tuesday night to ask motorists via their Facebook Page to stay off the roads if possible, as plows work to clear the snow and ice from the surface.

"Troopers have responded to approximately 34 crashes today between the Interstate and Turnpike due to snowy/icy conditions."
"Most involved no injuries, and none involved serious injuries. If you must travel, please take it slow, leave plenty of room, and give plows space to work. If you can delay travel, please do."
Local forecasters say snow will continue throughout the evening, with heavy snowfall possible at some locations overnight. For those who have to be on the road, authorities urge caution.
It's probably a good idea to stick an extra blanket and flashlight in your vehicle, just in case you do end up going off the road. It's also a good idea to make sure your cell phone is well-charged before you head out, in case you have to call for help.
