Southwest Harbor & Tremont Cancel Major 2020 Events

A letter received today from the Southwest Harbor and Tremont Chamber of Commerce told of yet another difficult choice made during the pandemic.

The letter signed by Ruth David, the Board President of the Chamber states, "This year, we will not be holding a fireworks display on July 4th, and due to the long lead time needed for organizing Oktoberfest, we are postponing our Acadia's Annual Oktoberfests' 25th season celebration until 2021."

Both the fireworks display and Oktoberfest are very popular yearly events for both locals and tourists alike within Mount Desert Island.  We look forward to them once again in the year 2021.
