Meet Junebug, the SPCA of Hancock County's "Pet Of The Week."

She's a sweet but kind of shy kitty who really enjoys being part of a cat family. According to Annie Chalmers, a Medical Technician at the SPCA of Hancock County, Junebug is a special girl.

"Junebug is a sweet but shy little torbie cat. She is quite a stunning cat with brown, white, and orange marbling meeting faint tiger stripes."

Chalmers says Junebug's life, short as it has been so far, has not been the greatest.

"At not even a year old, poor Junebug has been through so much. She was rescued as a young mom after being abandoned with her cat friends. Her kittens were born in the shelter and sent to foster shortly after."

Foster care was tough for Junebug, who pretty much kept to herself as she was quite nervous about everything. But then, she started to blossom a bit.

"Junebug never came around socially while in foster care, but when she came back and joined a community room, she started coming out more. Junebug enjoys the company of other cats and needs to be adopted either with one of her friends from the shelter or to a multi-cat household. With time and patience, Junebug may come around to being happy in a home setting. Junebug would thrive in a quiet home, could that be with you?"
