A wintry mix of precipitation is causing many businesses and schools to remain closed, including all state offices and several vaccination clinics.

Mother Nature is throwing it all at us today. Forecasters are calling for some snow, some freezing rain, and some wintry mix, depending on where you're located. That's caused many businesses, schools, and services to err on the side of caution and remain shuttered for the day, to wait out the weather, including several vaccination clinics.

MaineHealth will not be giving vaccinations today in Belfast, Boothbay, and Norway. Other MaineHealth clinics are postponed. Find more information about your clinic and how to reschedule, if you miss an appointment, on the MaineHealth website.

Northern Light Health will hold its vaccination clinic today at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. They understand that many may not be able to make it to the clinic, or feel safe on the roads. Those people are asked to call 204-8551 to reschedule their appointment. You cannot reschedule online, but can only cancel the appointment, which will force you to start the process over again, so calling is the best option.

Governor Janet Mills ordered all state offices not to open today, in order to keep employees and customers safe.

I urge Maine people to avoid traveling if possible and to drive cautiously if you have to commute," Mills said in a media release. "The Maine Emergency Management Agency is working closely with the Maine Department of Transportation, the Maine Turnpike Authority, and Maine's utility providers to respond as necessary to this storm.

Many schools, colleges, and businesses are also not going to be open today. A list of cancellations and closings can be found here. Still, it's a good idea to call ahead if you don't see your destination on the list, just to make sure they're open.
