Not everyday you'll get to see something as big as the paper mill stack coming down.

The town of Bucksport has seen a lot of changes with the Buckport Mill closure, sales and now removal of one of the most visible remnants the stack. In case you don’t remember is was back in December of 2014, that the Verso Paper Mill closed displacing over 500 workers.

According to the Bucksport Police Department Facebook page, the big smoke stack at the old Verso Mill in Bucksport will be demolished tomorrow (October 29th) morning.  The demo will take place sometime between 6 AM and 10 AM

You can watch the stack's destruction from just across the river at Fort Knox.  The fort will be open, at no charge. No one will be permitted to see the process from anywhere near the mill site for the sake of safety.

And on the horizon for the spot, Whole Oceans which does sustainable aquaculture will be refitting the mill for its new purpose of raising salmon.

Work done so far.

What comes next looks amazing.
