After interviewing 9,511 hungry people, this year's American Customer Satisfaction Index Limited-Service Restaurant survey results were recently released, and they show that Americans dig their fast food chicken sandwiches, more specifically, chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-A.
It's certainly no secret to those that reside and shop in the Bangor area that the Chick-fil-A restaurant at Bangor Mall is a VERY busy place. It's certainly not uncommon to see the parking lot full and both drive thru lanes packed with hungry customers.
The survey results show Chick-fil-A at the top of the heap when it comes to customer satisfaction, followed up by "All Others", which is a group of smaller restaurant chains bunched together. The top 5 is then rounded out by Chipotle Mexican Grill, Arby's, and then Dominos.
When it comes to who is the king of all chicken, the results show a 5 point difference between Chick-fil-A and it's main competitor, KFC.
The Chick-fil-A in Bangor is the only one in Maine, with the closest other being in Methuen, Massachusetts, about185 miles to the south. The restaurant features a variety of both fried and grilled chicken entrees, along with chicken nuggets, strips and wraps.
Coffee lovers will take note that both Dunkin' and Starbucks are only 1 point apart, but that satisfaction with Dunkin' increased by 1% while Starbucks decreased by 1%. .
Fast food burger restaurants didn't seem to fare very well in this year's survey, with Burger King, Wendy's and McDonald's all within the bottom 50% of the results.
