Is there any doubt that the intersection of Routes 1A and 46 in Holden is well used.  We think not.

Thousands of vehicles travel through the town of Holden daily.  It's not an uncommon sight to see traffic backed up all the way to the Lucerne Inn on a nice summer day, and it''s not uncommon to sit there in stand still traffic while a big rig negotiates the turn onto Route 46 to complete it's trip either to or from the Airline.

This isn't the first time that the traffic lights at the intersection have been damaged or brought down, and it probably won't be the last until eventually big rig traffic is routed to Route 9 via the new I-395 connector, or even higher and relocated utility poles are put into place at some point, maybe.

In the meantime, be aware that the traffic light pattern there will be affected in some way between now and tomorrow.  Please take your time and have patience.
