Kindness matters.  You know that.

This gig called life that we participate in day in and day out doesn't come down to who you support politically, and why.  It doesn't come down to someone making a mistake out on the road and pissing you off. It doesn't come down to how you feel about a Governor telling you to wear a face mask, or whether you believe that the pandemic is real or not.

It's not you against the world.  Deep down, you know that.

It's not about what you have or how much money you make. It's not about what your co-workers, neighbors or childhood friends now possess.  It's not all about what they have and what you don't.

It's not all about who believes in what and who doesn't when it comes to religion.   Or, how impressive you make your life seem on Facebook.  You know that. You really do.

In the end, it comes down to how much you care.  How much you care about people being hungry.  How much you care about a family with no $ for Christmas presents.  How much you care about an old woman being lonely.  Or, how much you care about that animal out in the cold.

A simple act of kindness can go a long way.  An act of kindness inspires others to be and perform the same way.

As hard as the world is and as life can be, it's still out there.  It's in the eyes of our healthcare workers, our first responders, and yours as well.  Kindness matters.  Kindness will prevail.

Two acts of kindness here in Maine were exposed via Facebook this past week.  We know that other than these two pictured above, that many more happened across our state this week as well.  Keep up the good work, and thank you.

And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make - Lennon and McCartney.

Merry Christmas, everyone.
