WATCH A Virtual Welcome Home From The Maine Troop Greeters

They've been greeting troops returning to the U.S. from overseas since March of 1991, and no pandemic is going to prevent them from continuing to do so.

The Maine Troop Greeters, an infamous group of military veterans, citizens and family members have greeted over 8000 flights and 2 million service members within the halls of Bangor International Airport since the beginning of their mission.  For doing so, the group has become well-known across the country and certainly remembered kindly by the millions that have had their hand shaken by them after a long flight home.

Unfortunately, they haven't been able to do so since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic a few months ago.  But now, their task will continue, virtually.

A recent video produced by Sutherland Weston Marketing Communications here in Bangor will be shown to those service men and women who are departing flights for their short stay-over here in Maine.  What a great job they have done!

It may not be as personal as a hearty handshake from the many Maine Troop Greeters that line both sides of the hall at all hours of the day and night, but in this day and in age it's a whole lot safer and a fabulous "welcome home" for our heroes in the military after spending weeks if not months on foreign soil somewhere overseas.

The Maine Troop Greeters and their Museum at the Airport is one of the many great things that Maine has become known for over the years, and we're really happy that their mission continues in this time of crisis.
