Brewer’s Wilson Street Water Main Replacement Could Slow Your Roll On The Ride Home
A quick heads up to anyone who travels Wilson Street in Brewer, the city says it could be a little slower going than usual for the next few weeks.
Crews are in the area of Wilson Street from Main Street to Lake Street, working to replace a large section of water main there.

According to the City of Brewer's Water Department, portions of Wilson Street will be down to one lane for the duration of the project, which started Monday September 8th.
This section of road does include a set of railroad tracks, so it could get a little trickier than a normal dig. That's why they're estimating that the project will take 2 to 3 weeks to complete, but reserve the right to lengthen that timeline a bit, if they run into any issues.
There are clearly marked detours for those who do need to get in and out of that particular area of town.
There is a City of Brewer Water Department Facebook Page, where updates on projects are usually announced. Officials tell us that those interested in keeping an eye on the timeline of this project, should check there for any changes or updated information.
You can also call the Brewer Water Department directly with any questions or concerns. Their number is (207) 989-4214, or email them by clicking here.
