This is a huge local event, and one that many certainly feel very passionate about.

The Wreaths Across America convoy will first gather and then be "sent off" on its annual pilgrimage to Arlington National Cemetery, on Sunday, December 8.

The convoy of big trucks, police and fire vehicles from all over the state, buses, military, and others, will arrive at the Maine Coast Mall off High Street in Ellsworth at approximately 10 that morning. A ceremony to honor all veterans, especially those lost while serving our country, will begin shortly thereafter.

During the festivities there will be a wreath-making presentation, a presentation to a Gold Star mother, folks to talk about services available to local veterans, treats and various family fun activities, including free horse carriage rides provided by the Mall.

The convoy should depart the Maine Coast Mall by at least 11:30.

After traveling along the east coast during the week with stops at various schools, memorials, and other locations, the Wreaths Across America convoy will arrive at Arlington National cemetery in Virginia the following Saturday, December 14th, where the each piece of the precious cargo will be placed in front of a grave marker.
