Yard Sale To Benefit Sarah’s House Slated For August
For the past 10 years, Better Homes and Gardens and The Masiello Group have put together one massive yard sale to benefit the local Cancer Hospitality House, Sarah's House Of Maine.

For those who don't know what Sarah's House of Maine does:
"The mission of Sarah’s House is to provide temporary lodging in a comfortable “home away from home” environment to cancer patients (and their caregivers) receiving treatments at Cancer Care...Referred guests are served with integrity and respect and without regard to financial resources."
Funded and run entirely by donations and volunteers, Sarah's House relies on fundraising events like this yardsale to keep them operational.
This year will mark the 11th year the Better Homes and Gardens group has hosted this giant yard sale in their honor, and they're looking for some help.
The event will take place Saturday, August 19th from 8 AM to 3 PM and Sunday, August 20th from 9 AM to 12 PM, at the Better Homes and Gardens office at 1162 Union Street in Bangor.
Outside of clothes, TVs, old mattresses and medical equipment, Event Coordinator Kasey Levesque says they are looking for donations of household items, furniture, kids' toys, and whatnot.
Levesque says 100% of the proceeds collected from the Yard Sale will go to help Sarah's House.
"We have raised just over $75,000 for Sarah’s House in the 10 years we have done this so far."
Levesque says Sarah’s House uses the money raised to keep the house running.
If you have any items to donate, you can drop them into the Maine Trailer container located at the Better Homes and Gardens Office on Union Street between 9 AM and 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Or, if you have questions or would like to arrange a drop-off outside of regular business hours, you can call Levesque at (207) 356-5574 or email her at kasey@greateasttitle.com.
