I was at the gun show last weekend when I grabbed this particular foot. Although, I couldn't get confirmation this statue of one that looked just like it graces the lot for the Anah Temple Shrine on Main Street in Bangor for the 35 years they occupied that space.  According to their webpage their first headquarters was on the two upper floors at 28 Main Street, Bangor. Then for 60 years they were located at 39 Columbia Street, Bangor. After that they moved to 586 Main Street, Bangor where they resided for 35 years and as of September 2015 they relocated at 1404 Broadway, Bangor.  Great building for them and much better parking and accessibility.

As for the unusual names I spoke of their numbers are made up of nobles including a  Potentate, Chief Rabban, Assistant Rabban, High Priest and Prophet, 1st and 2nd Ceremonial Masters, a Marshal, Captain of the Guard, Orator, Captain Arab Patrol and a few other colorful titles.

Add to that all the Clown names and go carts and I am guessing you can figure out the rest.  All that aside the Shriners and the Shrine Hospital have a very serious mission in life. The Shrine Hospitals for children. Their webpage describes them thus:

Shriners Hospitals for Children

Shriners Hospitals for Children is a network of pediatric specialty hospitals, founded by the Shrine, where children under the age of 18 receive excellent medical care. There are 18 orthopedic Shriners Hospitals, three Shriners Hospitals dedicated to treating children with severe burns, and one Shriners Hospital that provides orthopedic, burn and spinal cord injury care. Shriners Hospitals are located throughout North America — 20 in the United States and one each in Mexico and Canada. These “Centers of Excellence” serve as major referral centers for children with complex orthopedic and burn problems.
