20 Grams Of Deadly Drugs Seized Across From Holden School
A traffic stop in the town of Holden led to the removal of a massive amount of the deadly drug Fentanyl from circulation in Eastern Maine.
According to Lt. Andrew Whitehouse from the Holden Police Department, the drug bust took place near the local school, when officers with the Holden PD stopped 48-year-old Christopher Webber from Ellsworth, for a routine traffic stop.
"During their investigation, they recovered over 20 grams of fentanyl (roughly enough to kill 20,000 people or about 6 times the population of the Town of Holden) and 1.75 grams of crack cocaine. Mr. Webber is being charged with 3 counts of aggravated drug trafficking. The charges stem from the weight of the drugs, being within 1000 feet of a school and did I forget to mention his 3 prior convictions for Aggravated Trafficking that he is currently on probation."
Lt. Whitehouse says Webber was also charged with violating his probation.
With tens of thousands of people traveling along route 1A in Holden daily, Lt. Whitehouse says that the Holden PD isn't just looking out for the safety of the roads but also doing its part to help curb the flow of dangerous drugs being transported along that roadway to other parts of Maine.
