Here Are The Best Spots Near Bangor For Skinny Dipping
The temps are going to be well into the 80's the next several days.
Summer is finally here... And of course, in most cases, the first thing a lot of folks think about it is going swimming. Whether it's down to the coast to swim in the ocean, out to camp, or in the pool, folks start thinking about the best ways to cool off.
But what about skinny-dipping? When is it a good idea? Where should you do it? What happens if you get caught? These are all good questions. So let's see if we can knock a few out...
There's a certain etiquette that must be followed. Or at least should be.
- Do it at night. You're far less likely to be caught, and the dark is a bit more forgiving. (wink wink)
- Don't hide anyone's clothes/shoes. This would just be a jerk move that will definitely ensure you're never invited again.
- No staring/making inappropriate comments. Seriously. Just because you're all naked, doesn't give you permission to be "that guy".
Also, there's no reason to brag about any of this online or anything. It's not like you're going to post pictures of it on Facebook, and since the golden rule of social media is "pics-or-it-didn't-happen", no one will care about your adventures. But hey, it will live on in infamy every time you get together with friends and get a couple of drinks in you. Much like the time you actually went.
So where should you go? How about these spots? Remember, if you are caught, there is some trouble to get into, so check out the state's actual law on Indecent Conduct.
- Branch Lake, Ellsworth
- Gardner Lake, East Machias
- Moosehead Lake, Piscataquis County
- Sandy Point, Stockton Spring
- Stillwater off College Avenue Extension, Orono
Anyway... There's only one real rule you need to remember.... DON'T GET CAUGHT!
