Brewer Temporarily Suspends Pay As You Throw Trash Program

This would make sense in other communities as well.

Beginning today, Monday March 30th, residents in the City of Brewer will not have to have a purchased orange sticker attached to their bag of trash in order to dispose of it.

The 60 day suspension of the Brewer Trash Tag Program is being attributed to "unprecedented times" and the "financial hardship" facing many now in Brewer community, according to the City's website.

Household trash and recycling can still be left at curbside for pickup.  The City will reevaluate the situation at the end of the 60 day suspension.
