It was on this date in 1973 that Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards was fined in France for trafficking in cannabis.  Keith immediately gave up drugs and alcohol and has led a clean life ever since.  Yeah, right.

Richards was fined, received a suspended sentence and was banned from the country for two years, which was fine, because he doesn't know where he is half the time anyway.

In 1988 Bon Jovi hit #1 with the New Jersey album, it would stay there for 4 weeks. It would also produce five top ten hit singles, the most for any hard rock album to that date.  Luckily enough the band came from New Jersey, so the title was fitting.

On this date in 1995, Paul and Linda McCartney's voices appeared on an episode of The Simpsons, it was called "Lisa the Vegetarian."  One stipulation that McCartney insisted on was that a Simpsons character would have to be a vegetarian for the rest of their life.  Homer scoffed and immediately tore into a burger, and then daughter Lisa volunteered.

Tommy Lee took a couple of swings at a cameraman on this date in 1995 as he and his then wife the gorgeous, lovely and angelic Pamela Anderson Lee entered a L.A. nightclub.  The Motley Crue drummer was charged with assault.  Tommy Lee was sentenced to four months in prison, which he served.  When he was released he starred in the dumb ass reality series "Tommy Goes To College." Luckily he has another talent, just watch the sex tape.

Born on this day in 1935 was Barry McGuire.  Barry's biggest song was Eve Of Destruction, recorded during the height of the Vietnam war.  You may believe that the song is still relevant today, you may not, it's a free country, for a reason.
