Drug Take Back Day: Where To Drop Off Your Obsolete Meds In Hancock County
Clean out that medicine cabinet before someone else does!
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, October 28th. This is a fabulous reminder and opportunity to dispose of those old and unused medications before they fall into the wrong hands.
Thanks to the folks at Healthy Acadia for letting us know that they along with the Ellsworth Police Department will be set up at the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce Building on High Street that Saturday to accept those obsolete meds. They'll be there between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Drop them off, no questions asked.
The following police departments are also hosting Drug Take-Back events from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 28th:
- Bar Harbor (37 Firefly Lane)
- Bucksport (89 Franklin Street)
- Mt. Desert (21 Sea Street)
- Southwest Harbor (26 Village Green Way)
The Gouldsboro and Winter Harbor Police Departments will be hosting a Drug Take-Back at Winter Harbor Police Department (20 School Street) from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Last year, 27,140 pounds of medicine was collected between all of the departments located in Hancock County, according to Healthy Acadia.
