E-Waste Disposal Event in Bangor This Saturday
Here's how to get rid of that old broken television this Saturday without throwing it over the fence and into the neighbor's yard.
The Challenger Learning Center at 30 Venture Way in Bangor will hold it's now annual Spring E-Waste event this Saturday, May 1st, between 8 a.m. and 12 noon. They'll be accepting things like computer monitors, televisions, computer workstations, laptops, printers, monitors, fax machines, scanners, cell phones, and other electronic waste that you can't just stuff into a bag and then watch the garbage truck cart it off.
The Challenger Learning Center teaches science to boys and girls who want to become engineers and astronauts by providing them with very unique learning experiences that they call "missions." By dropping off your e-waste and making a small donation you can help the cause and keep the place up and running to the benefit of these motivated kids from Bangor and the surrounding areas.
While this Saturday's Spring E-Waste event is free, donations are suggested and gratefully accepted. Suggested donations would be $10 for the first item and $5 for each additional item that you'd like to discard. They accept both cash and checks.
Protect the environment and get rid of your e-waste the correct way by loading it into the car or truck and taking it to the Challenger Learning Center!
Stuff they won't accept this Saturday include: Anything with freon or mercury in them, like air conditioners, dehumidifiers, thermostats and thermometers. smoke detectors, light bulbs, vacuum cleaners, holiday lights and batteries.
