After 37 years on the job, Dotty Small will retire from the Ellsworth Police Department.

A retirement party will be held this Friday, August 10th, at the Moore Community Center on State Street.  Everyone is invited to stop by and congratulate her on a job well done!

The Sullivan native started as a dispatcher with the Department before taking a full-time job as a patrol officer. She would eventually become a detective, serving her community well while investigating complex cases like child and sexual abuse.  Recently, Dotty was also instrumental is starting Project Hope, a program that offers help without repercussions to those struggling with addiction.

Rising from a small town girl to a pillar of the Ellsworth community, we wish Dotty Small many happy years of retirement and thank her very much for serving our city well!
