The company was recently granted a $1.43 million building permit by the City of Ellsworth to renovate its store on Myrick Street.

Following a nationwide trend, the Ellsworth Walmart will also be adding the convenience of online grocery pickup.  Customers will be able to order things like cereal, frozen foods, bakery items, meats and other foods from their phone or workstation and, then pick up the items which will be assembled for them and waiting at the store.

This year, renovations at other Walmarts across Maine and the country have included widening the store's aisles and installing shorter shelving, redesigning the electronics department and adding interactive displays,  according to BusinessInsider.com.
