Here’s What They’re Doing Now Within The Bar Harbor Rte.3 Project
One year from now the dust will settle, but there's a whole lot of work to do between now and then. Here's what they'll be working on during the next couple of weeks:
To begin with, the one-way detour utilizing the Park Loop Road is open, so check out the map above so that you're prepared, and drive slowly! We know that detours are a nuisance, but take it slow to protect our kids and wildlife, please!
Here is what the contractors will be doing:
- Working on new drainage from Days Inn to the Bayview
- Starting work on a large pipe in the West Street / Eden Street Intersection
- Conducting sewer work from Duck Brook to Days Inn
- Grading the roadway and excavating drivways from Crooked Road to the Acadia National Park entrance
- Working on sidewalk improvements on Mount Desert Street and Main Street downtown
- Working on updates near the Quality Inn on Kebo Street
- Utilities are working on minor improvements at various locations along the project
