Here’s Why Batman Cruises The Streets In Lewiston and Auburn
This Caped Crusader has ventured far away from the streets of Gotham City, and can now be seen making kids smile in Lewiston and Auburn.
Vinny Donatelli, obviously a big fan of Batman, can be seen driving his decked out Batmobile around the Lewiston and Auburn areas periodically, and why does he do it. For the area's children, according to a story published in Sun Journal.
While he does have the full Batman costume and all the accessories, when he's not working out at the gym he can normally be seen behind of his throaty sounding Batmobile while wearing his signature dark colored beret and Dark Knight mask.
Mr. Donatelli told the Sun Journal, "Some of these kids that don't have a lot of hope with whatever family situation they are in - when I drive past, it makes them feel like they have someone out there looking after them."

His Batmobile is actually a custom made Polaris Slingshot that he bought online, and that type of vehicle has a list price of anywhere between $20,000 and $30,000. Apparently our Batman from Maine plays theme music from a hidden sound system when he pulls up in full character for the benefit of the kids or for a charitable event. Oh yeah, and there are toy machine guns mounted on the front fenders as well.
Don't worry, the former professional boxer has no aspirations to be a real-life crime fighter or to stand on the edge of high-rise buildings in the night with the moon in the background however cool that may be. Being Lewiston and Auburn's Batman is only a hobby with the goal of making the area's population smile. Holy smiling grins, Batman!
