Hurricane Could Change Travel Plans This Week Says Bangor International Airport
The southern U.S. is bracing for yet another big storm this week. Hurricane Milton, which the Weather Channel says has recently been upgraded to a Category 5 storm, is set to make landfall by the middle of the week.
Experts say that travel in and out of that region, already reeling from the devastation the last storm, Hurricane Helene, could get tricky and are advising residents to keep watch for local alerts and advice on evacuation, should it come to that.
Meanwhile, folks further north are already anticipating travel issues.
At the Bangor International Airport, they're saying they've already seen some changes to flight schedules.
They warned folks, via their Facebook Page, that they may want to check ahead this week, if they had plans to fly, especially on Allegiant.
"The threat of Hurricane Milton has caused some of this week's Allegiant flights to be canceled. Passengers should monitor their emails for details from the airline about rebooking options. The Allegiant ticket counter at BGR will be staffed only for a few hours on Tuesday. Most questions will need to be resolved by calling the airline directly. Please call the Customer Care line at (702) 505-8888 to speak to an Allegiant representative."
If you are planning to visiting places like Florida in the next few days, and are able to get a flight, you may want to double check the policy on packing umbrellas, too.
