It's March Bandness and tonight we're pitting The Who against Fleetwood Mac, So who is who? One band had a hit song written about resisting the urge to fraternize the young women at their concerts while the other band member was writing hit songs about coping with divorce.  Think you know who is who?  Guesses??

According to Songfacts, Behind Blue Eyes is the song about resisting temptation. The event occurred after a concert in Denver in June of 1970. Townshend being tempted by a groupie went back to his room alone and wrote a prayer beginning, "If my fist clenches, crack it open..." The prayer was more or less asking for help in resisting this temptation.  Both Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey have blue eyes. Making our gay divorce Christine McVie who wrote ‘Don’t Stop’s about leaving the past behind. She and John McVie (Fleetwood Mac's bass player) were splitting up, which inspired the lyrics. This caused some awkward moments, since John had to play a song written about him. Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks were also going through a breakup and writing songs about each other ("Go Your Own Way," "Dreams"), and Mick Fleetwood was going through a divorce. All the tension in the studio didn't seem to hurt - Rumours is one of the best-selling albums of all time. So who will take today’s March Bandness?
