Tonight's mystery artists have a big hit that was actually inspired by one of the member’s fathers. Think you know the song or the band?

The story they came from a picture taken by the mother of young Rickey Medlocke of Lynyrd Skynyrd. As Rickey tells it in a 2015 interview, he along with Ronnie, Gary and Allen would all spend hours sitting on the front porch with his dad blues player Shorty Medlocke with his dobro on his lap listening to him play. He goes on to say how this was part of the inspiration of the song 'The Ballad of Curtis Loew'. Rickey also tells how his first gig with Skynyrd was running lights and they fired him.
