Tonight’s mystery artists are classic rock at its best and still clocked in as the fourth best sellers of 2018 for Universal Music Group.  Bet you can guess who they are.

Add to the fact that they are classic rock to the reality that they disbanded almost 50 years ago making their success even more incredible. Reported on Hypebot, Universal Music Group showed that last year the Beatles White Album’ was their 4th bestselling album of 2018.  The group finishing ahead of frontline artists including XXXTentacion, Migos and Ariane Grande. The only albums that sold more were  Drake’s ubiquitous ‘Scorpion’, Post Malone’s ‘Beerbongs & Bentleys’ and the soundtrack to ‘A Star is Born’.

Universal Music Group acquired the Beatles and Abbey Road catalogues when they bought EMI back in 2012. Their site refers to that purchase as:

The Beatles, along with Abbey Road, were among their ‘crown jewels’

Universal Music Group recorded an impressive $6.8 billion in revenue in 2018
