Tonight’s mystery artist took a jazz oriented song written by Ray Davies that was a hit for the Kinks and hammered it into a rock and roll classic. Think you can guess the song or the band that made it a hit??

Wikipedia tells how back in 1964 Ray Davies had been instructed at the time to write "Beatle -type" song for commercial reasons his song, "You Really Got Me" was written as a more R&B-based composition. The song was a hit for the Kinks in the 60’s going all the way to number 1 in the UK and then in the 70’s Van Halen picked up the song sending it back up the charts again.
