Tonight's mystery artists wrote and performed a song that is called the National Anthem of the South even though that is not where they come from at all. Bet you can guess who that is.
This distinction came to us from Rolling Stone Magazine about the south’s song of pride ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ written and performed by native Floridians Lynyrd Skynyrd. Most of the band members, for those who don’t know, were raised in Jacksonville Florida and the Van Zant home is now a museum for the band called 'The Van Zant House'.
