Tonight’s mystery artists had a hit that was composed by one of the band member’s granddad. Think you can guess whose pops wrote the song or which well known song it is??

I found this touching story on Forgotten Rock Classics about musician and song writer Shorty Medlocke. In addition to his musical chops on banjo and harmonica, Shorty was also a Blackfoot Indian. His grandson is Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Rickey Medlocke. However grandpa Shorty wrote the song for little Rickey while he was in the band that bore their family’s heritage for its name, Blackfoot and the song he wrote for Rickey and the band was ‘Train, Train’
