Acadia National Park’s Park Loop Road and Thompson Island Picnic Area Re-opens April 15
Acadia National Park has reopened the majority of the Park Loop Road this morning, April 15th for the season.
The section of the Park Loop Road between Kebo Street and Sieur de Monts will remain closed for all users, through June 12th, with the exception of Memorial Day Weekend. The road is closed to replace a culvert that will help restore Great Meado and to connect new Park housing to the Town's wastewater system.
While the Park Loop has reopened, Acadia National Park reminds everyone that the Carriage Roads remain closed to all users until further notice to protect them during "mud season"
The Cadillac Summit Road remains closed to all users through April 30th to allow for the continue construction on the Cadillac East-West Connector Trail, a paved trail which will run parallel to the Summit Road and create a safe pedestrian connection between the Summit's 2 parking lots and visitor areas.
Thompson Island Picnic Area is also reopening to the Public on April 15th!
