We're coming up on week #4 of Social Distancing, and as we've now got a "Stay Healthy At Home" order here in Maine, many local families are looking for ways to stay sane, and make the best of their time together.

One such family happens to be my sweet neighbors, Megan and Joshua Bridges and their kids Blake and Grafton. The Bridges, like most families across the state, have been distance learning for the past few weeks, along with trying to working from home. Trying to balance those things, while raising a young family and worrying about older parents and grandparents, well, it can lead to some stress, to say the least. But the Bridges have found a way, as a family, to infuse their lives with a little stress-relief. And I, for one, am inspired.

You see, in this day and age, where we're all connected by FaceBook, happen to be pals with Megan online (as well as in person.) I'd like to think that we not only share motherhood in common, but also a good healthy sens of humor. And so when I noticed her posts the last few days, I couldn't help but start to chuckle. She and her family have been recreating famous works of are with household items.

Here's how it all started.

According to an article at CBSnews.com,  J. Paul Getty Museum in California closed its doors, like many places, amid the fears of Covid-19. But that didn't stop them from encouraging people to enjoy art to the fullest. They actually put out a tweet asking for people to find creative ways explore their own artistic sides!

"We challenge you to recreate a work of art with objects (and people) in your home," tweeted the museum last week, followed by instructions for the project. "Choose your favorite artwork. Find three things lying around your house. Recreate the artwork with those items. And share with us."

My friends, the Bridges accepted this challenge, and have been working together, as a family, to recreate works of art. And I'd say, based on their posts, that they've kind of been nailing it!

Blake, who just turned 8 and got to have an intimate family celebration (don't worry Blake, we're gonna throw a super-fun block party for all the missed birthdays when all of this is over) and her brother Grafton, who is 5, have been helping as stylists for their mom and their dad has taken over as the photographer.

I have thoroughly enjoyed their efforts, and they've been a little light in my life, as so much of what you read online these days has a very dark and heavy feeling to it.

I love that they have found a way to have some fun with their situation. And I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

Perhaps your family could take up this challenge, and relieve a little stress in the process. Here's hoping! Keep up the good work, neighbors!
