Major Recall Issued for 25 Amazon Items Now Sold in Maine

I shop online more often than in stores, for sure.

Not for normal things, necessarily. I still go clothes shopping in stores. Plus grocery shopping, shoe shopping, etc. But for my music gear, I buy a lot from eBay and Reverb, and that sort of thing. I'm always hunting for the best deals. And a lot of it is weird stuff I can't get in other places.

But often, like most folks, I use Amazon for a lot of things. There aren't a lot of places where you can compare several different styles of screen door tension springs. But sometimes, you buy things on sites like Amazon, and you'll end up getting a recall notification. It could be for any number of reasons, from safety issues to defects, or from contamination, or even compliance issues.

In most cases, when you receive a notice of a recall, from Amazon or even someplace local like Hannaford, the recall usually comes with some kind of instructions on how to proceed. Maybe it's to return a broken item, or simply throw away some food with an issue. Then you'd likely get some kind of refund or compensation.

Recalls don't always mean the worst. But of course, there are times when there's a recall on medication, or there might be an important defect on a child's car seat... Those things are quite serious and word gets out pretty fast. But Amazon actually has a page on their website, where you can keep track on of recent/ongoing recalls.
